Confirmed: 6 dead, 9 critically injured in horrendous Jarumeh-Koto Road Traffic accident, Police Launch Manhunt for the suspected driver on the run

Six young boys between the ages of twelve and sixteen years were confirmed dead early Sunday morning at Jarumeh Koto in Sami District, CRR north, after a vehicle with registration number WCR 6924A ran into the victims who were celebrating a football victory in the central river region rural settlement.

Police sources also confirmed that nine others were seriously injured, including a 23-year-old lady. All the injured are currently in hospital receiving medical attention.

After abandoning the vehicle and taking to his heels, the truck driver is at large. A combined Police and Military search is underway to apprehend the fugitive driver, who’s believed to be a young man.

A search for the driver is in progress, and the victims are being evacuated to the Bansang Hospital, a police source in CRR told TAT.

He is also a co-founder of the Banjul-based Media Center for Research and Development, an institution dedicated to research and development initiatives. As a journalist and communication expert dedicated to supporting the Gambia's transitional process, Mr. Sainey M.K. Marenah plays a significant role in developing a media and communications platform aimed at enhancing civic participation and raising awareness of the requirements for transitional governance.
