The Alkamba Times is pleased to announce that Fatou Hydra, a young Gambian digital creator has joined its growing team of media professionals as the News media company’s new creative digital editor.
Ms Hydara, who is currently based in the north African country of Morocco will work directly with the TAT digital multimedia team to undertake projects in video editing, graphic works and animation as well as production of trailers and commissioned adverts.
Reacting to the news, TAT Editor in Chief and CEO, Mr. Sainey MK Marenah said Ms Hydara’s work will add immense quality to the company’s digital media projects and support the boosting of mediums online content as TAT moves to commemorate its annivassary with a special coverage series next month.
“I have no doubt that Fatou’s expertise in digital and creative media works will be an added advantage for TAT at a time when we are expanding coverage and distribution.” Marenah, who warmly congratulated Ms Hydra said.
For her part, Fatou Hydra said: ” I look forward to joining TAT to work with like-minded individuals with diverse professional backgrounds.
For over 5 years, Fatou Hydra has been a noteworthy leader in Education. She is the Founder and Executive Director of African Youth Architects, an innovative nonprofit organization that develops curricula and resources to support underprivileged students, facilitating access to resources for startups and young entrepreneurs in Africa.
She has a background in Pre-Medicine, BSc in Health Care and Social Psychology, and is a frequent speaker on subjects ranging from innovation, leadership, access to quality education, the role of nonprofits and social enterprise.
Encyclopedia Britannica honored her on their list of 20 Under 40: Young Shapers of the Future (Education).
Ms Hydara has conducted research on sustainable development, education, and healthcare policy abroad in country’s such as Spain, Finland, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, and Senegal at various academic institutions.
She has volunteered with Center Cultural African for some time helping more than 500 youth migrants in Morocco intending to cross to Spain with capacity -building training on self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
