The Gambia Volleyball Federation will host the 2022 edition of Zone II volleyball champions covering both male and women categories.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from 13th to 17th January 2022 in Banjul.

Speaking to Alkamba Times, Bai Dodou Jallow, president of the Gambia Volleyball Federation said, five countries including the host have confirmed their participation in this year’s edition.

‘We are anticipating a very competitive tournament. Teams coming for the championship signify that it would be an exciting five days and a volleyball fiesta in Banjul.”

Mr Jallow called on the business community and individuals to partner with the Federation for sponsorship as the weeklong event will be a great platform to sell their products and brands.

This edition will be played in honor of former Senegalese volleyball president Alh Baba Sy.

The late Mr. Sy served as vice president of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) and also served as vice president of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

The tournament will be played at the independence stadium volleyball court in Bakau.
