Modou Gibba of Logic Sport made his first appearance alongside Musa Kanaji Jawneh and Kissima Jarju in the Dubai International U-13 football tournament. The trio are currently representing the Jordanian side Inglizia Football Academy.

Chelsea U13 took the lead, but Inglizia FC came from behind to secure the victory thanks to goals from Musa Kanaji Jawneh and Kissima Jarju.

Pascal Njie, the CEO of Logic Sports Academy, shed light on the prospect of the young boys attending the tournament in Dubai and the project of Jordan Gateway.

“It’s an opportunity I tapped into recently, whereas playing while going to school and in the company of their parents. It’s better off than staying in the Gambia; at least in Jordan they have all facilities ranging from doctors to physiotherapy. Even on days that they don’t train, they have personal trainers to keep them on their game. It’s an opportunity that provides you the environment to thrive in pursuing your dreams, likewise going to school. Player’s academics are the core of the Logic sport setup. Both things go along; we only keep players that are doing well in academics,” He indicated.

“We want to show the kids that there is still hope; you don’t have to make it by only representing the Gambia in the U17 stage. We at Logic Sport encourage grassroots football as a gateway to pursue your dream outside the Gambia at an early age. Right now, in The Gambia, if you don’t play with the U17, there is a problem for you. That’s the problem Logic Sport is solving, giving hope to the younger players. It can cut off the rate of ‘backway’ because we see that players from other countries are leaving at an early age. My target is not only in Jordan in the future but look at the bigger picture: if Logic Sport takes 10 players, the immense development that will be for the country in four years’ time. We can have a strong U20 side that has been groomed with a culture of football in their head.”

Pascal Njie with Chelsea U13 Coach

The trio are all in Dubai for the U13 tournament rubbing shoulders with players in their category from Chelsea, Bayern München, AC Milan, Real Madrid & Al Nasr, and Pascal takes immense pride in that.

Proud moment…………………

“It makes me feel that I am in the right direction in player development, since I am the head of development in Hövik. It has showed me, patience leads you to success. When the direction is clear, the vision is easier. Imagine beating the Premier League U13 champions; it’s a testament that there are a lot of players in our country. We just have to do it in the formal way so that they know this is the direction they have to take, and when we take it, we will be on the top.”

Alagie Secka and Alagie Ceesay are currently in Jordan and will be joined by the trio after the tournament. The Dubai Intercontinental Cup was founded by former Real Madrid player Michel Salgado. The finest clubs in Europe, Asia, America, and Oceania are represented.

It is a great platform where great future stars are spotted and groomed. The competition attracts scouts from all over the world who pick players and put them in their academies.
