The Gambia Amputee Football Association, in collaboration with Legs4Africa, has completed an intensive training program for GAFA executive members’ on fundraising strategies and data collection.

The Secretary General of The Gambia Amputee Football Association (GAFA) told Alkamba Times in an exclusive interview that the training came at the right time for members of the association.

“It was a wonderful experience, and I was overwhelmed with the good direction The Gambia Amputee Football Association (GAFA) has taken in a short period. I thank my mentor Beth Elgood from our partner Legs4Africa who skillfully guided, protected, helped, and encouraged us in our struggles,” he told Alkamba Times.

“We have learned so many important things during the two days training program that include the theory of change and fundraising strategy for the association.

This will help executive members and the GAFA to be able to lobby for funds and make new partners in the future. It will also help the association expose its future members internationally.

The team is preparing to meet financial demand for them to be able to participate in next year’s championship in Angola.
