Two Gambian immigrant couple, Njameh Bah and her husband Ebrima Senghore, based in the United States, on Saturday, July 22, launched their African Market Store, dubbed LS African Market, in Texas with a desire to solve problems and make home-based groceries accessible to the Senegambian community.
“The prime objective in venturing into the retail industry is to help solve a problem. The Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex has numerous African stores, but only one store serves the core community of Senegambians with their home-based grocery needs,” Lady Senghore explained.
LS African Market, a name derived from her name Lady Senghore, explained that the set-up of the store is borne out of the need to
cut down long-distance travel to get what is needed in a store for Africans.
She explained that the LS African Market will go beyond serving only those that live in Texas but throughout the United States.
The business is expected to create employment opportunities for many immigrants in the United States.
“Getting settled in the United States can take some time or be challenging for many, but one can be hopeful with such opportunities. I was almost homeless here before settling; therefore, I wouldn’t want anyone to experience the same hardship if my business could help. Additionally, customer service is our priority in everything we do,” she started.
