The youth president of the Gambia Democratic Congress(GDC), MC Cham Jr says his party will be backing the opposition United Democratic Party’s petition filed at the Gambia’s apex court in Banjul.
On Tuesday, the UDP filed a petition challenging the December Presidential election citing a number of irregularities and accusations including voter buying.
“We will not file any petition against the December presidential poll, but we are going to back the UDP’s petition through some evidence in our possession. We have not seen the reason to come up with our own since we (GDC and UDP) issued a joint communique to reject the results, there is no need to come up with our own,” MC Cham said.
The petition case is expected to commence tomorrow Friday, 17th December, 2021.
