Two players largely popular among the Scorpion supporters, Alasan Manneh and Abdoulie ‘Bambalie’ Sanyang are out of The Gambia’s final squad for AFCON 2022 in Cameroon.
Former FC Barcelona youth player Alasana Manneh and Beerschot winger Abdoulie Sanyang are were among the provisional squad, but the duo failed to make the ultimate cut as the coach trimmed the list to 28 that will be representing the Gambia in its maiden appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Gambian gaffer Tom Saintfiet has finally unveiled his final AFCON squad without Alasana Manneh and Abdoulie Sanyang who were both vital for the national team during the qualifiers.
The Belgian tactician and his players will be in Qatar next Monday for a training camp before finally departing to Cameroon in what will be the scorpions’ debut appearance at the continental flagship tournament scheduled for the 9th of January 2022.
