The second vice president of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Ebou Faye has said that The Gambia’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) is the biggest achievement of Gambia’s football history.
“I’m honoured to witness this greatest achievement for our country’s football since its inception. The process started in 1952 and finally, we will be playing the 33rd edition of AFCON 2021 in Cameroon”, Faye said.
“We have to thank everyone who has been involved in this great achievement for a small country like ours and we believe the whole nation will be proud of this great moment”, GFF second VP added.
Mr Faye, a former national team player, now an executive member of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) is hopeful of positive performance by the team dispite not playing any test match during their training camp in Qatar.
“The team is very prepared and the spirit in the team is very well and this is a good opportunity for the players to sell themselves during the tournament and that will be a great advantage for us because the players are extra motivated to market themselves during the tournament” Faye concluded.
