England

Yankuba Minteh returned to Brighton’s starting XI as Palace beat the Seagulls 3-1 at home. Minteh, who lasted 70 minutes, saw his side concede two early goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Ismaila Sarr, with the latter scoring in the 82nd minute.

Elsewhere, Santa came early at the Pride Park Stadium as Derby County beat Portsmouth on Friday evening. Adams, who scored his second home goal and his third of the season was named as the Man of the Match. The Gambian midfielder was thrilled with the positive result and performance from the Rams.

“We’ve had many performances where we should have come away with a lot more goals.” Adams indicated

“We were clinical in this match, and we kept a clean sheet too, which was the icing on the cake.”

“Now we just want to continue with these types of performances,” he added.

Paul Warne’s side rallied into a three-goal lead at the break thanks to finishes from Kane Wilson, Eiran Cashin, and Adams; an own goal in the second half from Marlon Pack rounded off the scoring. Derby will take on Luton Town on Friday, 20th December.

Italy

Como are unbeaten in their last three matches following their 2-0 win over Roma on Sunday evening. Alieu Fadera was handed his 16th league match, and the Gambian played the entire 90 minutes. Twice, Como had corners with the delivery fallen to Fadera. He had one effort tipped over and the other skimming the far post.

 

Cesena Calcio returned to winning ways following their 2-1 home win over Cosenza in the Italian Serie B. Dai Burdel rose to fourth position with Saturday’s victory. The Gambian defender Joseph Ceesay was played high up in the field, and it paid dividends as he assisted both goals, one in each half. First with Elayis Tavsan in the 45+1minute and after the resumption of the game, Tommaso Berti increased the lead in the Stadio Dino Manuzzi di Cesena.

Turkey

Ali Sowe registered his six-league goal in the Superliga as Rizespor was held to a 1-1 home draw against Konyaspor. The Gambian striker missed from the spot in the ninth minute before giving the home team the lead in the 44th minute. Ali has now scored four goals in the last four league matches. Rizespor is sitting in ninth position with 20 points after match day 15.

Switzerland

Grasshoppers Zürich beat Basel away from home to secure much-needed points in the Swiss league. Adama Bojang was making his 10th appearance as he came on in the 60th minute. The loanee from Stade de Reims was close to opening his account.

Hungary

Lamin Colley and Puskas Academy continued their fine form  in the Hungarian League with a 3-1 win to extend their lead at the top to 4 points. Colley scored the third goal in the win and it has taken his season’s tally to 7 goals, only one behind the league’s top scorer.

Slovakia

Alasana Yirajang scored one and assisted the other in Podbrezova’s 2-0 win in the Slovakian league. This took his season tally to a landmark of ten (8 & 2) goals involvement for the 2024/25 season.
