Ebrima Darboe opens account for Sampdoria, Sarr named Man of the Match as Minteh makes history

Italy

Ebrima Darboe scores in Sampdoria’s 2-1 win over Cosenza. The midfielder drove across the midfield, beating two defenders before spinning it in the bottom corner. Darboe has started in all three of Il Doria’s last three games. The win saw Sampdoria move to 14th place, one point ahead of Pisa.

England

A brace from Adam Phillips handed Derby County a defeat at Oakwell Stadium. Ebou Adams and co took the lead through a Bradley header, but the game turned over a few minutes as Derby County lost 2-1 against promotion rivals Barnsley. Derby will host Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.

Tim Dieng’s goal handed Gillingham a slim 1-0 win over visiting Wrexham. Jacob Mendy’s shot across goal in the 12th minute was turned wide by host goalkeeper Gleen Morris. The visitors could not test Morris however, and Gillingham stood firm to claim victory at Priestfield.

Ibou Touray and Stockport County dropped to second place following their stalemate against Swindon Town on Saturday. Ibou Touray was substituted after the break.

Alasana Jatta made his debut for Notts County as they were beaten 3-1 by Crewe Alexandra at Meadow Lane. The former Paide talisman replaced McGoldrick in the 49th minute.

France

Nfansu Njie made his second appearance as Bordeaux registered their ninth win of the season. Nfansu Njie replaced  Zuriko Davitashvili in the 85th minute.

Both Saikou Touray and Abdoulie Sanyang were not involved in the 1-0 GF38 defeat against Pau FC.

Netherlands

Yankuba Minteh sunk Almere City in what was Feyenoord’s 2000th away goal. Minteh scored a cracker minutes after coming in. He broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, sending a stunning curler to the top right corner. The Gambian international added his second goal of the afternoon in the 90+2 minutes, taking his goal tally to five goals and three assists in 18 league matches.

Turkey

Ankaragucu and Ali Sowe suffered another defeat, this time losing 3-2 away to Kayserispor. The visitors took the lead twice before the break; Carlos Mane’s 90th minute sealed the win.

Omar Colley kept his 5th Super League clean sheet and 7th in all competitions for Besiktas this season as the Eagles beat Istanbulspor 2-0 on Sunday.

Denmark

Hamza Barry played full throttle as Vejle secured three crucial points following their 2-0 home win against Silkeborg on Sunday.

AC Horsens lost 2-1 to Kolding IF. Alagaie Saine, who played full throttle, saw his effort saved. The visitors took the lead through Asker Beck in the 60th minute, and the host responded through Simon Becher. Pressure piled for the hosts as they had to play 10 men, paving the way for the winner in the 81st minute through Isak Taannander. Friday’s results left AC Horsens in 8th position with 24 points.

Bangladesh

Former Hawks captain Omar Sarr scored his second league goal for Fortis FC. Chittagong Abahani started on the wrong foot in the second half after Lawal Muritaala scored an own goal in the 76th minute. Omar doubled the lead, making it three wins in three after Saturday’s 2-0 away win at the Shaheed Bir Flight Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

South Africa

In the Cape Winelands, Salifu Colley played this third game for Stellenbosch Fc in their 5-4 penalty win over National First Division side Pretoria Callies. Colley came on in the remaining second half of the extra time. Devin Titus goal in the 68th put the home side in front, but the visitor’s struck in the 87th minute to force the game into extra time.

Saudi Arabia

Musa Barrow scored his fifth league goal in Al Taawoun’s 3-1 win against Al Okhdood. Barrow broke the deadlock in the 7th minute and went on to assist Al Kuwaykibi in the 88th minute.

Mohammed Badamoesi maintained his spot in the Al Hazem starting XI, playing 90 minutes in their 1-1 draw against Al Khaleej.

Assan Ceesay was an unused substitute in the Damac away match, which ended in a 1-1 draw against Al Fateh. Ceesay came off the bench in Damac’s last seven matches before being left on the bench.

CAF Champions League

ASEC Mimosas, who were part of the 1998 CAF Confederation, held visitor’s Simba SC to a goalless draw in Abdijan. Pa Omar Jobe was making his first CAF Champions League appearance in Group B.

The Jangwani Street boys put on a show at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, where they demolished Algeria’s CR Belouizdad 4-0. Lamin Jallow replaced Leonel in the 80th minute.

Kebba Sowe was an unused substitute in Esperance’s 2-0 win over Etoile de Sahel.
