European clubs in the battle for Alieu Fadera’s signature

Gambian international Alieu Fadera is attracting suitors outside Belgium. Turkish side Trabzonspor is the latest to join the race to sign the former Real de Banjul Winger.

Club Brugge, Anderlecht, KRC Genk, Antwerp, Toulouse, and Rapid Wien are among many clubs following him.

Fadera, valued at €2 million, scored 7 goals and provided 7 assists this campaign for Zulte Waregem in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.

The 21-year-old was voted as the Esservee fans’ player of the year. He has a contract with the Waregem-based club until June 2025. However, it is yet to be confirmed if Zulte Waregem will let go of one of their most instrumental players in the season.

Yusupha Njie, who in 2018 was close to joining French side Stade de Reims, is said to be leaving Boavista Porto after six seasons with 138 matches for the capital team. The 29-year-old center forward /left wing is currently sitting seventh on the log of the 2022/2023 Primerira Liga goals scorers.

Yusupha Njie scored his 21st home goal at the Estádio do Bessa Séc XXI.

Vitoria SC, who currently occupies the Europa Conference league qualifiers spot, is said to be interested in the Gambian international. However, it’s yet to be seen if Italian clubs will be interested in the free agent over the Summer.

Ali Sowe will join the duo of Alieu Fadera and Yusupha Njie as Gambian foreign-based players likely to make moves this Summer.

Ali Sowe is already linked to a stay in Turkey, with his current team MKE Ankaragücü’müz likely to be his possible destination. Trabzonspor has also shown interest in the past.
