Faal Hits Brace as Sowe, Ceesay, Jatta and Singhateh Shine Over the Weekend

Baboucarr Faal and Lamin Jawo both continued their fine form over the weekend, each registering their seventh league goal of the season. Ebrima Ceesay also enjoyed a memorable week, making his UEFA Europa Conference League debut before finding the net for his club’s U19 side. Meanwhile, St. Pauli recorded a rare Bundesliga win, though Abdoulie Ceesay was unused sub.

England

Notts County extended their winning run to three matches heading into the festive period. Their 3–1 victory over Grimsby Town lifted them to second place on the table.
Alassana Jatta scored his eighth league goal of the season, calmly rounding the goalkeeper before doubling Notts County’s lead in stoppage time (93rd minute).

Italy

Alieu Fadera played 60 minutes in Sassuolo’s 2–2 draw away to AC Milan at the San Siro. He delivered a solid defensive performance, making his 16th appearance of the season and his fourth league start.

Germany

Hamburg-based side St. Pauli claimed their first Bundesliga win since matchday three, edging Heidenheim 2–1 at home. The victory came despite playing the entire second half with 10 men following a red card.

Czech Republic

Youssoupha Sanyang made his fourth league start for Slavia Prague in a thrilling seven-goal encounter against FK Jablonec. He featured for 73 minutes.

Lamin Jawo made an immediate impact after coming on, scoring just one minute after his introduction in the 57th minute. He dispossessed Slavia’s last defender, controlled the ball, and finished coolly past the goalkeeper. The goal marked his seventh league strike in 18 matches.

Ebrima Singhateh scored his second league goal to give Karvina the lead in the 70th minute. He now has two goals and three assists in 14 appearances. Substitute Lucky Ezeh later went on to score a brace.

Turkey

Ali Sowe has now scored three goals in his last five matches. He was on target again on Saturday, scoring Rizespor’s third league goal. Deployed on the left wing by Augusto, Sowe beat the goalkeeper to seal the victory.

Ebrima Ceesay returned from injury and featured in Samsunspor U19’s last three league matches. Fresh from his European debut, he found the net in a 4–3 win over Istanbul Başakşehir U19 on Sunday.

Ukraine

Baboucarr Faal continued his impressive run of form, scoring a brace away to SC Poltava. He now boasts four goals and one assist in his last four matches.

Faal opened the scoring in the 31st minute, finishing off a well-delivered pass from the left, before netting the winner in the 71st minute from a rebound.

Malta

Mustapha Jah returned after a six-week injury layoff, featuring in Floriana’s 2–0 win over Birkirkara. He was introduced in the 59th minute as Floriana maintained their position at the top of the table.
