The family and community of 21-year-old Isatou Fatty, the cashier brutally stabbed to death at the Heewal Forex Bureau in Brusubi Turntable on Saturday, December 20, 2025, have united in grief and outrage, calling for swift justice and the full prosecution of the perpetrator(s).

Isatou, described by those who knew her as ambitious, hardworking, and full of promise, was discovered bleeding heavily on the bureau’s premises by a cash supplier who arrived to make a delivery. Her brother, a medical worker at the adjacent Medicare Hospital, was alerted around 9:00 a.m. and rushed to the scene, only to find his sister gravely injured. She was immediately taken to the nearby Medicare Clinic but succumbed to her wounds.

In a statement released by community members from Kudang, the Camara and Fatty families expressed profound sorrow and demanded accountability. “We stand in solidarity with the Camara and Fatty families during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement read. “Many who knew Isatou speak of her great qualities, her ambition, and her bright future ahead. Her dedication to her work at Heewal Bureau and Money Transfers was admirable, and her absence will be deeply felt.”

The message extended condolences to Isatou’s mother, Sainabou Camara, her father, Morro Fatty, and her grandfather, the revered Futa Camara, Traditional Leader of Kudang. “The six clans of Kudang and Bundung are united in grief and outrage,” it continued. “We demand justice for Isatou and pray that the perpetrator(s) are brought to light and face the full force of the law.”

Gambian police have launched a full investigation into the fatal stabbing. The victim’s body has been transferred to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) Mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. No suspect has been arrested, but authorities say all available leads are being actively pursued.

The bureau’s CCTV system was reportedly not operational at the time of the incident, potentially complicating efforts to identify the assailant. Police have appealed to the public for information, urging anyone with details to contact the nearest police station or call the hotline at 9968885.

As the community mourns the loss of a young life cut short, the demand for justice remains unwavering. Prayers continue for Isatou’s soul to rest in Jannatul Firdaus, the highest paradise, while her family and supporters await answers and action from the authorities.
