The Gambia and Hawks Football Club’s combative midfielder Bailo Bah has expressed his desire to play professional football in the future.
The young star earned his first start for The Gambia U-20. On Monday evening, he helped the team in their well-contested 1-0 win over fellow West African side, Benin, on the ongoing U20 AFCON in Alexandria, Egypt, to top their Group C of the continental match.
“My target is to play at professional level soonest and represent my country at senior level if I have the chance any time possible,” Bailo told TAT.
“As a young player growing up, it has always been my aim to put on the Gambian jersey and defend the colors of my country as a player. I have been working tirelessly to achieve that dream, and with the help of my coaches at both club and national level, I believe I can fulfill my dream,” Bah added.
Bailo knows the common hurdles one faces in reaching a professional stage, but the young Hawks star is ready not to give up on this dream.
“It is not an easy journey to reach the highest level of football, especially in this generation of modern football, because there are characteristics one needs to put in place and sacrifice many things but at the same time be ready to do what it takes to hit your target,” he said.
The young man also aspires to improve his family’s living conditions through football.
Bailo is a young talented midfielder who works tirelessly to defend his backline, and his attacking vision is top-notch in modern football. The aggressive midfielder’s work ethic and contributions are noticed at the club and national youth levels.
Bailo Bah won the Gambia Football Federation domestic league title last season with Hawks FC and has recently become fans’ favorite at the club. Many consider the young Bailo, a natural team player who sacrifices everything for his team and off the pitch.
