Sanneh, a staunch supporter of the People’s Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS), has been a leading voice in exposing alleged government malfeasance. As a member of GALA, a group dedicated to recovering assets looted from public coffers, Sanneh has consistently criticized policies and actions that he believes undermine public interest.
Alport, citing unspecified contractual violations, terminated Sanneh’s employment, but sources close to the activist claim the move was retaliatory, targeting his outspoken criticism of government practices. Sanneh’s activism includes legal challenges, such as his involvement in a 2024 Supreme Court case against amendments to the Commission of Inquiry Act, which he and the Coalition of Progressive Gambians argued granted excessive presidential pardon powers.
