Gambian foreign-based players roundup looks at the action midweek as the Scorpions players featured in leagues and cup matches.

Egypt Premier League 

Zed FC continued their impressive form by beating El Gouna 1-0 away from home. Alieu Jatta played full throttle, while Midfielder Mohammed Sawaneh came on in the 89th minute for the host.

Kajally Drammeh maintained his position in the starting XI of coach Ali Maher set up as Future FC came from behind to beat El Dakhiya 2-1. 

Morocco

Pa Modou Sohna was handed his first start in the Botola Pro when Jeunesse Sportive Soualem hosted OC Safi. Sohna, who lasted for 62 minutes, has played three out of the four league matches in Morocco this season.

 

League Cup 

 Omar Colley and Besiktas fell to a 4-2 defeat against Adana DS in Turkey. 

Ebou Adams switched back to a central defensive role in a game that saw Cardiff lose against Blackburn.

 The biggest winner in the league cup is Musa Juwara, who provided three assists before scoring his first goal for Vejle in Denmark. They edged TST Fodbold 7-0. Elsewhere, Odense beat Hobro thanks to Mohammed Buya Touray’s goal. Alasana Manneh also played full throttle. 

The central defense duo of James Gomez and Bubacarr Sanneh played full-time in Wednesday’s cup victory. It was Gomez’s fourth appearance, with three coming in the league before playing in Sparta Prague’s 1-0 win over SK Lisen in the MOL CUP.

Bubacarr Sanneh, who made his league debut over the weekend, also featured in Zvijedda 09 3-1 win over Bratsivo. 

 Switzerland 

 Ebrima Colley was handed his first start in BSC Young Boys’ 2-1 defeat against St Gallen; Colley lasted 61 minutes at Kybunpark Stadium. Saidy Janko played full duration as Young Boys registered their first defeat in the Credit Suisse Super League. 

Kazakhstan 

 Dembo Darboe scored his 11th goal for Astana in their 5-0 win against Okzhetpes; his fifth goal came from the spot as FC Astana closed the gap to One point in the league. 

Estonia 

Paide suffered a blow to their top-three ambitions following a 2-1 defeat against Tallinn Kalev. Ebrima Jarju and Bubacarr Tambedou were handed a start. Alieu Gibba was introduced in the 61st minute as he replaced Luts.
