The Gambia’s lethal goalscorer, Adama Bojang, nicknamed the “Hurricane,” has set his eyes on winning the 2023 U-20 FIFA WORLD CUP top scorer award after scoring a brace to help the Young Scorpion triumph 2-1 over Honduras in their Group F opener.

The Steve Biko FC talisman, Adama Bojang, gives The Gambia a dream start when he fires the ball into the net from 20 yards just 20 seconds into the match.

The 18-year-old Gambian ace Adama Bojang’s opener is the third-fastest goal in the history of the U-20 World Cup. Only Adama Sagna of Senegal, 9.6 seconds in 2005, and Nigerian Monday Odiaka, 14 seconds in 1985, found the back of the net quicker than the Gambian starlet.

Adama Bojang made himself the hero of the net when he smashed the ball into the net from close range to restore the Gambia’s lead in the 84th minute.

The Gambian prodigy goalscorer, Adama Bojang, said he aims to score more than the five goals he scored in the U-20 AFCON and finish as the Argentina U-20 FIFA WORLD CUP.

“My target is to better my goal tally at the AFCON and win the golden boot here. I’m working hard towards it with the help of my teammates as collectively we can make things happen.” Adama said.

Adama Bojang expresses joy for donning the Gambians jersey and being the primary catalyst in the Young Scorpion’s 2-1 win over Honduras.

“It’s a great feeling representing your country in the World Cup and scoring a brace and much more having the three points. Hard work enhances talent and makes you improve,” He added.
