Marimoo Packwood FC coach Momodou Jallow spoke to the TAT Sports following his team’s impressive 1-0 win over Real de Banjul courtesy of Yankuba Jallow’s goal.
Marimoo remains the only unbeaten team and has conceded only one goal. No time for celebration, Jallow hints that as long as the boys play according to instructions, more wins are ahead.
“Train hard and work very hard to keep the momentum. We have to play according to instructions; it will greatly help us. We want to improve in terms of scoring as well. If we take our chances, we will hit our target in the long run. Even if it’s two-goal per match,’ He told TAT Sports.
Marimoo went 570 minutes of action before conceding a goal, and Jallow praised his defenders for doing a great job at the back.
“This backline had been built since the preseason. That’s our advantage; we did our homework from last year. Why and how we were conceding goals, we worked and improved those mistakes. We grew in understanding how and when to defend too. That has helped us a lot in the backline.”

“Our match against Real de Banjul was difficult, the same as we predicted. We were both unbeaten before this match. To prove we were among the best, we only had one option: to collect all three points against the Whites and close the gap. The league is still young; we have to lay our heads down and fight, game by game. Our target this season is to achieve something, an excellent position,” Jallow revealed
Marimoo will host Falcons next weekend; the Manjai-based team has drawn five this season.
“Draw is better than losing in terms of football. But three draws mean you have lost one game. So the draws have helped us in our position. There are some teams that we drew against them; it was a good result to us considering in the last past seasons, we used to lose against them,” Jallow added.
