Serrekunda East/OlympiAfrica center volleyball team are the crown champions of the Gambia Volleyball Federation national league, 2021/2022 league season. They defended the championship for a fourth (4) season on the final day of the league season.
At their home, a comfortable win over the Police volleyball team meant the visitors, the Serrekunda East volleyball team, paved the way for their fourth league title this season.
The Serrekunda East side maintained dominance in The Gambia Volleyball Federation national league despite losing four key players to some clubs in and out of the country for better pay cheques. As a result, the young East side remains superior in the country’s volleyball league championship for another season.
“We feel absolutely excited because winning a title is very easy, but to defend it is the most important thing to do. We did it for the fourth time consecutively. Despite this season, we transferred most of our male and female vital players, but the male team overcame them.”
We are excited about our fans’ support, especially the Serrekunda East Sports Development Organization (SESDO) and Olympafrica center,” Muhammed Cham, assistant coach of the Serrekunda East volleyball team, told Alkamba Times Sports.
