Sheikh Omar Faye, the 19-year-old Etoile de Lusitana offensive midfielder will face defending champions CasaSports on Sunday at the Stade Lat Dior stadium in Thies.

Faye stressed that it is a privilege to feature against Casa Sports and he and his charges will go out for a win.

“It’s an honor to play against CasaSports, they are the favorites, they are the defending champions. That’s a great feeling itself. Nothing changes just like when we met other clubs. ” Faye stressed

“We will play like before, we will just double the effort and increase our concentration compared to previous games. I am happy to meet them. They have a good side, we will respect them, we are not concentrating on their name,”

The Serekunda-born rose through the ranks of Samger FC academy and featured in the Gambia U17 team of 2019 scoring three goals and a brace against CNEPS. He also broke the deadlock against ASC Linguère in the 11th minute before assisting Alfa Condeh.

“After the first two wins against Guediawaye and CNEPS, we got motivated that we can do it, coaches helped us to push more in all aspects, players believe now we can do it mentally.”

Faye, who is ambidextrous, was close to joining CasaSports, GenerationFoot, Niary Tally and Guediawaye FC before moving to Etoile. He is on the top list of runners-up Jaraaf to bolster as they seek to boost their midfield during the transfer window.

The energetic midfielder has six goals, and four assists in 13 National league matches and is eager to do more.

“I want to leave a legacy, I always make a difference, I want to either gain promotion or win the coup de Senegal, therefore the final is all to play for.” He added
