Global direct selling company QNET successfully concluded a Product Workshop for Gambian journalists on Friday at the Ocean Bay Hotel and Resort in Cape Point, using the platform to strongly denounce individuals and groups fraudulently using the QNET name to deceive the public.

The 27-year-old lifestyle and wellness-focused company said the event was deliberately organised to allow media practitioners to interact directly with authentic QNET products, understand its legitimate direct selling business model, and clearly distinguish genuine Independent Representatives (IRs) from impostors who have tarnished the brand’s reputation in the country.

“This workshop is crucial because some people have been misusing QNET’s name and products to scam innocent Gambians. We want that to stop,” declared Mr Cherif Abdoulaye, QNET’s Regional General Manager for sub-Saharan Africa. “QNET is a legitimate global company, not a scam. We do not promise visas, overseas jobs, or quick-rich schemes. Anyone doing so in our name is a criminal, and we urge the public to report such persons immediately to QNET or the nearest police station.”

Abdoulaye emphasised that the company has received numerous complaints about fraudsters promising non-existent employment and travel opportunities while collecting money under the QNET banner – activities the company categorically condemned.

During the hands-on session, QNET Global Product Trainer Bernie Gaksch demonstrated several flagship products from the company’s wellness, lifestyle, personal care, home care, holiday, and education categories. He highlighted that every product undergoes rigorous third-party testing, meets international quality certifications, and is backed by continuous research and development.

“All QNET products are sold exclusively through our official e-commerce portal www.qnet.net,” Gaksch stressed, warning journalists to beware of counterfeit goods and unauthorised sellers.

The workshop forms part of QNET’s broader anti-fraud campaign in The Gambia. The company announced it will hold a two-day public Expo on 6–7 December 2025 at Coco Ocean Resort and Spa in Bijilo, where citizens can experience the products firsthand, meet authorised representatives, and learn how the legitimate direct selling model works.

QNET officials reiterated their commitment to transparency and consumer protection, pledging continued collaboration with Gambian authorities and media to combat brand misuse and protect the public from scammers.
