The country’s main referral hospital, Edward Francis Small teaching hospital, has announced a rare condition currently under observation in the hospital’s Pediatric outpatient.
In a press statement, the hospital said: ‘ Samples collected from affected children are now under observation.’
” Cases present diarrhea, vomiting, and reduced urination output. It is severe and already causes mortality in children. Our doctors are working very hard to establish the condition’s cause.”
The public is urged to be vigilant and report to the nearest health facility if their child shows the symptoms mentioned earlier.
“You are advised not to rely on drugs purchased from pharmacies without visiting a health facility,” the statement added.
