The leading force in The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women Division One League, Red Scorpions is on the cusp of a major league winner for the 2021-22 title following a conformable 4-nil win over fierce rivals Police FC in the return leg of D1 League matches played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Jeshwang based team is just three games away from securing the title before the end of the 2021-22 Women’s League campaign.

Choro Mbenga, a former player of the team who is now head coach told Alkamba Times that her side is well prepared for upcoming matches like previous ones.

“We understand perfectly well that the race is still not over despite our four point edge on top of the league table because we still have three (3) more games to play and that is nine (9) points. I told my girls that we need to collect 4 more points to be confirmed champions and we are working towards that,” she said.

Three crucial games are left before the end of the GFF Women’s Division One League 2021-22 season.
