Sare Bojo Tragedy: Lake Drowning Claims Lives of Five Children

The deaths of five out of six children were reported on Sunday, June 2, 2024, after they drowned in a lake on the outskirts of Sare Bojo village in the Jimara district of the Upper River Region.

According to our regional correspondent in Basse, the deceased was swimming in the lake on Sunday afternoon when the tragic incident occurred.

The report gathered by TAT indicates that out of the six children, only one was rescued and is now in stable condition. The remaining boys were found deceased and are presently being prepared for burial.

All the deceased originated from Sare Bojo village, with three belonging to the same family. The eldest was reportedly about 15 years old.
