A host of Gambian players return to club actions over the weekend following their heroic performance against Congo in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Abdoulie Sanyang and Alieu Fadera played a part in their respective clubs’ second half of games.
Badamoesi, Ibou Touray, Hamza Barry, and Omar Colley were all handed a start, while Musa Barrow debuted in the Saudi Arabian Premier League.
England
Ibou Touray was drafted in the Stockport County squad to face Milton Keynes. It paid dividends as Ibou Touray assisted Barry in the 17th minute. The Blue and White recorded their first back-to-back Victory. This was their first visit at the Stadium MK in 14 years.
Netherlands
Yankuba Minteh has a goal involvement every 27 minutes. Minteh has scored three goals for club and country, back-to-back for Feyenoord. Minteh scored his first goal at home in Feyenoord’s 6-1 win over Heerenveen. Minteh also set up Ondrej Lingr for what was his first assist of the season.
Denmark
Vejle BK dropped another vital point in their 2-1 home defeat against Randers FC in the Danish Superligaen on Sunday. Hamza scored the equalizer, his first goal of the season, but Filip Bundgaard brought back the visitors in front. Musa Juwara came on in the 86th minute.

Kazakhstan Premier League
Dembo Darboe gave Astana the lead in the fourth minute. A misplaced clearance from the defenders landed on the right foot of Dembo Darboe, and he made no mistake in firing home the opener. It ended Astana 2 Tobol Kostanay 1 as the host closed the gap in the league standing.
Saudi Arabia
Musa Barrow was close to having a perfect debut, only to be denied by VAR in Al Ahli’s 3.2 home win over AL Taawoun. Barrow got the equalizer in the 51st minute to level the game 2-2. Former Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin restored the host lead in the 67th minute. Barrow again struck with a header in the 90+3 minutes but had it overturned by VAR.
Czech Republic
Ebrima Singhateh returned from suspension to score one and assisted one in Vlasim’s 2-2 draw against Lisen. Singhateh scored from a rebound just before the break. The Gambian U20 player has now scored seven league goals.
Future CUP
Alassana Jatta was on target in the Future Cup when Viborg FF played a 2-2 draw against AaB at Energi Viborg Arena. Jatta wasn’t involved in the Superliga meeting against Midtjylland.
Alieu Gibba scored a header for Paide U21 in their 2-2 draw against FC Levadia on Sunday. “Gaucho,” as he is affectionately called, has yet to debut in the Premium Liiga.
Babou Cham netted his fifth goal in the ESILIIGA following FC Nomme UUnited’s win over FC Elva.
