Brikama-born Gambian rapper Sanna Singhateh alias “ST” officially unveiled the new kits and colors of Brikama United Football Club ahead of the 2023 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) league campaign.
The occasion also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) and Gifts Football Agency.
The MoU ushers in a new partnership to expand the funding of the club’s home, away, and neutral jerseys specially branded by AfroSpor of Scandinavia in Sweden.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the President of BSC, Lamin Dembajang, said as per the MoU, the gift agency will also develop a feeder team and recruit International agents for the scouting of Brikama United players.
“Gifts would take our players out to various European countries to help them advance as professionals,” Lamin said.
The representative from Gifts and AfroSpor at the event, Sulayman Sowe, said AfroSpor’s dream is to beat Nike in Africa, most especially Gambia, and they are determined to achieve that if given a chance to prove their worth.
Music superstar ST wore the club’s new home jersey colored in thick-green and covered tracksuits to exhibit the new BU brand in Brikama on Tuesday evening.
Founded in 2003, Brikama United Football Club is a Gambian football club based in the town of Brikama in the West Coast region of the Gambia.
The team is owned and run by the BSC group and plays home matches at the Brikama Box-Bar mini stadium.
Brikama United, fondly called the “Sateyba Boys,” competed in the GFF National First Division League and became the only club outside Banjul, the capital of The Gambia, to win the National League since its inception in 1960.
