Susso hits brace, Vejle collects first point of the season as Minteh opens Premier League goal account

Scorpions players abroad put on solid performances over the weekend before the international break where they will face Madagascar in 2025 AFCON qualifiers double header. Ebou Adams and Yankuba Minteh registered wins in the Championship and the Premier League respectively. Musa Barrow created chances in the gulf while Ebrima Jarju saved a last-minute penalty in a game that saw him being awarded man of the match.

England

Yankuba Minteh inspired Brighton Albion to come from behind to seal a victory against Tottenham Hotspurs. The host went to the break on the wrong foot but showed intentions of a comeback when Yankuba Minteh left-footed shot from the centre of the box went straight into the bottom right corner to make it 2-1. Rutter and Welbeck scored in the 58th and 66th minutes to complete the comeback.

Italy

Romelu Lukaku, Scott McTominay, and David Neres were all on target for Napoli as they beat Como 3-1 on Friday evening. After wins in their last matches, neither Antonio Conte nor Cesc Fabregas decided to make any changes to their starting lineups. Alieu Fadera lasted for 68 minutes.

Denmark

Vejle led twice, courtesy of Richard Jensen and Dimitris Emmanouilidis, but ended up being held by the visitor’s to a 2-2 draw. Musa Juwara set up Jensen in the 24th minute to break the deadlock as the former Chievo Verona youth player registered his third assists of the season. Vejle’s lead was cut short when the visitor’s pulled one goal back via Ross in the 55th minute, while Mads Bomholt’s 83rd-minute strike denied Vejle the crucial three points.

Visitor’s HB Koger ran riot against OB Odense at the Nature Energy Park, taking the lead twice in the first half before Jafar Arias sealed the victory in the 64th minute. Both James Gomez and Alasana Manneh maintained their spot, with James being replaced in the 37th minute and the latter being taken off in the 87th minute. The 3-0 home defeat is the first time OB lost a match after going 11 games unbeaten.

Sweden

Mjällby emerged victorious in their meeting against Västerås. The game was Abdoulie Manneh’s 17th league appearance. The former Wallidan offensive player has started five out of the 17 as he was given the nod on Saturday’s victory. Jackob Bergström and Thomas Pettersson gave the hosts the goals as they moved up in the table comfortably, sitting in 5th position with 42 points.

Estonia

Ebrima Jarju was voted the Man of the Match in the Paide 1-1 draw against 2nd placed Kalju. Jarju, who captain Paide nine times this season, saved  Alex Mattias Tamma penalty in the 88th minute to deny the visitors. Jarju has saved four penalties against (Trans, Kuressaare, Tammeka, and Kalju) so far this season.

Latvia

Haruna Rashid Njie maintained his spot in the starting lineup following his Europa League debut. The Gambia U20 midfielder, who in RFS last two league matches played in the left back position, produced another dominant display as RFS extended their lead following their 3-0 win over BFC Daugavpils on Sunday.

Slovenia

Susso Bamba’s brace which was his first goals of the season were enough to hand Nk Aluminij all three points on Friday evening. Susso broke the deadlock in the 45th minute when he got the final touch of the swining ball. The Basse born double the lead in the 67th minutes with a brillant solo goal, sending a half volley after beating the goalkeeper. The 2-1 win over Slovan in the Slovenian league has placed them in 2nd place with 21 points after nine games played.

Armenia

Kajally Drammeh came off the bench to score a conventional goal for FC. Drammeh got his first Armenian Premier League, and it was against FC Pyunik. Drammeh, the former Gambia U20 captain, has played four league matches since joining from South Africa.

Slovakia

Yusupha Kambi scored his second league goal in the MonacoBet Liga in Slovakia, 2nd tier. Kambi gave FK Pohronie, but the visitors fought back to beat the host 5-2.

Saudi Arabia

Musa Barrow registered his 7th goal contribution of the season (5 goals + 2 assists) for Al-Taawoun FC as he scored to help them beat Al Fateh FC 2-0 in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.

Philippines

The Diggers registered their first win of the season, following their 4-0 win over Mendiola FC. Ceesay broke the deadlock before former Banjul United defender Pa Ousman Gai scored a brace. It became all a Gambian affair as Modou Joof added the fourth goal in the 64th minute.
