In a resounding affirmation of its leadership in tackling Africa’s acute housing deficit, TAF Africa Global has been named Affordable Housing Company of the Year 2025 at the 7th edition of the Africa Housing Awards.
The glamorous ceremony, held on December 12, 2025, at Fraser Suites in Abuja, celebrated excellence, innovation, and impactful contributions to the continent’s housing and construction sector. Organized by the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) and Housing TV Africa, the awards are regarded as the most prestigious honor in Africa’s built-environment ecosystem.
TAF Africa Global, a Pan-African real estate developer founded by visionary entrepreneur Mustapha Njie, received the accolade for its outstanding efforts in promoting affordable housing across multiple African countries. The Award highlighted the company’s rigorous selection process, which included thorough evaluations, fact-finding missions—particularly focused on projects in Port Harcourt, Nigeria—and public voting.

Operating in eight African countries, with strong dominance in The Gambia and Nigeria, TAF Africa Global has set an ambitious target: delivering 1 million affordable, high-quality homes by 2038. Key projects include the RIVTAF Golf Estate in Port Harcourt, featuring over 1,100 units on 40 hectares, and the groundbreaking Greater TAF City—a 1,000-hectare development in Port Harcourt aimed at 20,000 mixed-housing units, touted as the largest affordable-housing city in sub-Saharan Africa.
Mustapha Njie, the Group Managing Director and CEO, personally received the certificate on stage. A self-made leader with over 45 years in construction and real estate, Njie began his journey after high school, discovering a passion for carpentry and rising to build a continental empire. He has earned numerous accolades, including Entrepreneur of the Year (West Africa) from CNBC/AABLA in 2017.

In his acceptance speech, Njie expressed profound gratitude:
“On behalf of the entire team at TAF Africa Global, I stand here deeply honored to accept the award for ‘Affordable Housing Company of the Year.”
This award is not merely a recognition of a business milestone; it is a powerful validation of a core belief we hold dear: that every African deserves the dignity, security, and opportunity that comes with a decent, affordable home.
Receiving this here in Abuja, at the heart of our nation and our continent, makes it even more significant. Our journey has been one of partnership. I must therefore extend our profound gratitude.
To our investors who shared our vision; to the government and regulatory bodies that enable an environment for innovation; to our tireless engineers, architects, and project teams who turn blueprints into communities; and, most importantly, to the families and homeowners who have entrusted us with their dreams.
At TAF Africa Global, we see housing not just as bricks and mortar, but as the foundation for stronger families, healthier communities, and a more prosperous Africa. This award fuels our commitment to push further to innovate, to scale, and to deepen our impact.

Thank you to the Africa Housing Awards for this prestigious platform. Thank you to our peers for the collaboration and healthy competition that drives us all to do better.
We accept this award with humility, with gratitude, and with a renewed sense of purpose.”
This recognition underscores TAF’s innovative, community-focused approach amid Africa’s estimated 58 million unit housing shortage.
