Slavia Prague showed interest in two Gambian center-backs in the name of Maudo Jarju and Sheriff Sinyan. Molde is currently preparing a one-year contract extension with Sheriff Sinyan. Sinyan was on form, scoring back-to-back before getting that injury against Brann, which saw him miss 32 league games.

The arrival of Sebastian Holmen, Niklas Hult, and Nigerian 20-year-old defender Ibrahim Buhari made coach Jimmy Thelin take a u-turn on Maudo, who is believed to be one of the club’s top earners. So is it the system or the trust? Maudo, just like with Austria Wien, went in search of more playing time, thus joining Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava on loan.

Last shot for Musa Juwara to revive his career after a disastrous loan to Boavista and Crotone. The Gambia U23 captain will spend the second half of the season in the Danish Super League to return to form, which saw his market value raised to €2m. However, for Musa to do that, he will have to settle by coming from the bench to replace Yankuba Minteh, whose rocket start has seen him attracting interest from Udinese and even Premier league side Newcastle Utd.

“I am thrilled to be here, as OB is a big club with talented players. I spoke to Alasana about the club, and he left no doubt that I should play here. I got a good impression of the club, where everyone welcomed me like a big family. I also have a good impression of the coach, the coaching staff, and the director. I would like to thank them for the opportunity they have given me,” says Musa Juwara.

With Ebrima Colley and Ali Sowe on loan, they have contributed 14 goals this season. Signaling a potential move for the duo in the summer. Transfer deadline day almost saw the number of Gambian players rise from three to five. Omar Colley’s agent Federico Pastorello confirmed that offers came for the Gambian captain, which was believed to be Beşiktaş.

Galatasaray made a loan offer for Musa Barrow, but Bologna demanded a buy-out clause for 24 years forward. On Friday, Bologna coach Thiago Motta said “No, it’s not happening — Barrow stays here at Bologna.”

Lamin Jawo has joined FK Mlada Boleslav on a free transfer from FC Trinity Zlin. Jawo will be staying in the Fortuna Liga in Slovakia.

The injury made Alasan Faye miss the Senegal CHAN team, where the Pape Thiaw charges became champions on Sunday. The damage’s severity caused him to fail a medical that saw his move to Al Hilal collapse before Florent Ibenge signed DR Congo Midfielder and Real Tamale United midfielder David Abagna Sandan on three and four years contracts.

The January window only witnessed a few activities from the league. But two of its best servants, Ousman Sillah(Wallidan) and Bun Sanneh (Brikama Utd), moved abroad to Northern Cyprus and Portugal. While Fortune FC youngster Karamba Gassama joined Albanian top side FK Dinamo on a two-year contract.

In the gossip, we had that Alieu Gibba alias Gaucho was miles away to move Metz FC. At the same time, Momodou Fadera’s trials with Frankfurt didn’t take place.

Abdoulie Sanyang started from the bench against Quevilly as he was linked to Bordeaux and replaced Alberth Elis. Bamba had agreed on personal terms with the Girondins but only to see Bordeaux’s consequent bids rejected.

 U20

Despite not unveiling the complete list, some Gambia U20 players will be heading to Egypt after signing contracts.

Previous U20, which had the likes of Lamarana Jallow (Sporting), Kajally Drammeh(Cape Town City)Mustapha Jah (Cluj), all signed professional contracts following their magnificent outing in Nouakchott. Likewise, Baboucarr Faal, Habbiou Mendy, and Mahud Bajo (Granada B) sign in this January window in Croatia and Spain, respectively.

Gambian Winger Kajally Drammeh

Alagie Saine, the vice-captain and the captain of Falcons, will be moving to Denmark to join Ac Horsens on a six months loan deal with an option for permanent signing. Saine is tipped to be James Gomez’s understudy, who is likely to move in the summer.

Ba Lamain Sowe, who penned a three-year contract with Segunda side CD Tenerife, brought the number to three; the Tete already has Lie Corr in their midst.

Lamin Jawara has joined Danish third-division side Holstebro Boldklub for the rest of the season. The former U20 defender returned from a shoulder injury that kept him from reaching his potential in the early days of his Viborg contract.

Is Salifu Bayo, Yankuba Minteh in the making? Salifu, a winger who will turn 18 years this month, will be having one-month trials. He was on target against St Pauli. Yankuba continued to make a huge impression since his unveiling.

Babucarr Boye has joined the Segunda side FC Cartagena on a three years contract, and the versatile offensive midfielder has been sent on loan to Real Ávila CF.

 The Gulf

Reigning Champions of the Kazakhstan Premier Liga FC Astana have signed Dembo Darboe on loan from UAE till the end of the year. Like Shaktar Sologrisk, Dembo joined Astana in January to prepare for the season when Astana will defend their league title. The league will start on March 4th, but the Super cup tie is on February 25th, meaning we will see the former Ndiambour striker in action earlier than thought. First, it needs to be clarified why Dembo moved to UAE. However, he still has unfinished business in Europe, setting his target on double figures per season.

Maudo Jarju

Al Ahli’s promotion back to the top tier is not only on positive results but equally bolstering their squad depth with quality and experience. The two are what they got in the former Reading winger Modou Barrow. Many will argue that they were hoping to see Modou Barrow back in Europe after his incredible performance in the just-concluded K-League
