The event featured expert speakers, interactive discussions, and valuable resources to educate attendees about the challenges faced by individuals with autism and their families. TFAG prides itself on fostering a supportive environment where participants can engage, ask questions, and learn more about autism spectrum disorders.
The symposium sought to empower the community and promote inclusivity for those affected by autism in the Gambia by addressing misconceptions and sharing personal stories.
The event brought together advocates, families, educators, and healthcare professionals to discuss inclusivity and social acceptance.
The symposium provided a platform to address the challenges faced by individuals with autism and their families, emphasizing the need for greater acceptance, understanding, and support within the community.
Sirreh Saho, president of TFAG, shared her vision for the organization, which is rooted in her experiences as a parent of a child on the autism spectrum. “This moment symbolizes hope and unity for our community. Our organization envisions a world where every child on the autism spectrum is not only seen but celebrated,” she stated.
Saho appreciated the TFAG team and donors for their commitment and support. “Your generosity and trust in our mission have empowered us to take this crucial first step thus far. This initiative goes beyond raising awareness; it is about taking action—ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to the resources, opportunities, and understanding they deserve,” she added.
