In a thrilling match played at Annexe Stade Abdoulaye Wade in Dakar, USFAS Bamako emerged victorious, beating Berewuleng FC 2-0 in the CAF Women’s Championships league WAFU A qualifiers.
Matchday four saw the Malian side take on Berewuleng FC, and their win was a testament to their skill, strategy, and determination.
The game was goalless at halftime, with both teams creating scoring opportunities. However, USFAS Bamako’s Oumou Traore broke the deadlock in the 81st minute with a stunning free kick that left the Berewuleng FC goalkeeper with no chance. The Malian side’s Safiatou Keita sealed the win with a second goal.
Berewuleng FC’s head coach, Fakebba Saine, emphasized his team’s focus on ranking, stating, “We are taking all games seriously, and we are not taking any game lightly.” Despite their best efforts, Berewuleng FC couldn’t find the back of the net, and USFAS Bamako’s defense held strong.
Amadou Sisseko, the Malian coach, expressed his joy and satisfaction with the win.
He highlighted the challenges his team faced, including the suspension of their top scorer, due to two yellow cards. Sisseko praised his team’s adjustments at halftime, which prevented Berewuleng FC from scoring and secured their victory.
The coach also commended his team’s mental toughness and preparation, which enabled them to perform well under pressure.
“The win was crucial to avoid calculations and ensure our progress,” Sisseko said.
Meanwhile In other match results, Determine Girls FC suffered a 1-0 defeat against Aigles De Medina. “The defending champions Aigles De Medina collected all the maximum three points against the champions of Liberia.
Sadigatou Diallo’s only goal in the 61st minute was the only goal of the game at the Annexe Stade Aboulaye Wade in Dakar.
With this result, Aigles De Medina move to second place with 6 points, while Determine girls FC are still finding it difficult as they are yet to collect the maximum points.
