A host of Gambian foreign-based players were in action over the weekend. Musa Barrow scored a brace as Yankuba Minteh assisted in Brighton’s 4-0 win over Norwich. Ablie Jallow and Ali Sowe were involved in their various league fixtures while Ebrima Jarju and Adama Bojang played friendly matches due to winter break.

England
Yankuba Minteh’s FA debut at Carrow Road ended in a 4-0 victory for the visitor’s Brighton Albion. Minteh surged at a retreating defense, before finding Rutter with a sublime pass for him to finish past Long.

Minteh’s speed troubled Norwich all afternoon, and he raced onto Ayari’s pass eight minutes after the break but was betrayed by a heavy touch in the box, which allowed Long to come out and save the situation.

Minteh went off with a suspected knee injury in the 70th minute.

Italy
Alieu Fadera was making his 17th Serie A appearance as Como played a 1-1 draw against Lazio, a result that moved them to 14th on the Italian topflight league table.

Como almost took the lead in the fourth minute when Alieu’s through ball found Nico Paz, but he overhit the dinked ball over on-rushing Ivan Provedel and turned it wide off the empty net.
After the break, Provedel had to fingertip away Alieu Fadera’s strike from the edge of the area.

France

Ablie Jallow returned to Metz’s lineup as the Grenats drew goalless against league leaders Lorient. Metz is still in fourth position. Ablie Jallow lasted for 83 minutes in the encounter.

Saikou Touray has started in the last three league matches for Grenoble F38. The Saturday match saw the former Maccabi Haifa midfielder playing 75 minutes in Grenoble’s 1-0 win against Caen. GF38’s victory has taken them to 9th on the league table.

Turkey

Ali Sowe and Rizespor recorded a 2-1 away victory against Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig. Ali laid a pass to Rachid, but the Algerian midfielder’s shot in the bottom right corner was saved.

Saudi Arabia

Musa Barrow, who received the best goal of the week prior to kickoff, continued to be crucial for Al Taawoun as he scored a brace in the Wolves 3-0 win over Al Qadisiya. Barrow scored one of the league’s fastest goals when he gave the visitors the lead in within 21 seconds. Barrow went on to score a long-range stunner to take the game beyond reach. Barrow (9) is behind Mitrovic (12), Ronaldo (11), and Benzema (10) in the Saudi Pro League goal scorer chart.
