Serrekunda East Sports Development Organization (SESDO) recorded an emphatic 3nil win over Sanyang united to finish third in the GFF Super Nawettan championship to win the bronze medal.
Three second-half goals from double substitute Alagie Wally, Assan Jallow, and Balla Lowe were enough for the East side to record an impressive victory over the fan’s favorite young Sanyang side. Sanyang enjoyed a good run form in this year’s championship before their narrow 1-nil loss to Bakau in the semi-final last week.
“I’m excited to guide our beloved zone to third place, and everyone around Serrekunda is happy with the bronze medal we won against a solid side in this year’s competition. It’s not our goal to finish third because we prepared well for this championship. Unfortunately, we couldn’t proceed to the final as we were knocked out in the semi-final against our better rivals, Serrekunda west.”
Ebrima Sarjo, assistant coach Serrekunda, told Alkamba Times sports:
” As a coach and the rest of the team, we are very grateful to the people of Serrekunda for the support, especially to our fans club members who were with us throughout the season, and we assure them we will come back stronger next season.”
As the third-place finishers, Serrekunda East was given a cash prize of D100.00, a bronze medal, to all the registered players and coaching staff.
