SESDO’s Best Player Haji Touray: ‘My goal is to sign a professional contract’

The winner of the best player award at the maiden edition of the Serekunda East Sports Development Organization sports awards, Haji Touray said his goal is to sign a professional deal in the future.

Speaking to Alkamba Times Sports at the weekend awards night at the BO Semeger Janneh Hall, the young player expressed delight and looking into the future with optimism. 

The Serekunda East Sports Development Organization last season’s best player Haji Touray said his main ambition is to sign a professional deal in the future.

The marauding young prodigy guided Juventus to the league title following an impressive Naweetan with the Tallinding base side.

“I am delighted to win the best player of the Naweetan. I want to thank my teammates, fans, and everyone who voted for me to win this title,” he told TAT Sports.

Soon after completing the Naweetan, Wallidan FC captures Haji’s services. 

The youngster has the ambition to sign a professional contract abroad in the future.

“My ultimate dream is to play professional football abroad. Every day I am working towards achieving my dream, every young footballer’s dream is to sign a pro deal, and I hope I will get this dream in the future,” Said Haji

Haji’s Mum his biggest Fan

 Winning awards is usually an incredible feeling, but it becomes special when your biggest Fan is in attendance. For Haji, his mother, Maimuna Jammeh, is his number one supporter.

She told Alkamba Times Sports that she does watch all of her son’s matches at the last Naweetan organized by SESDO. Mai Jammeh said she never doubted her son’s ability to rise to stardom.

“We are all excited that Haji won the best player of last season. I never doubted his talent and capabilities. For me, I make sure whatever he needs, I provide for him. I watched all his matches last Naweetan; I supported, cheered, and encouraged him whenever he was on the pitch; when he turned back and saw me in the crowd, that was motivation. I believe my son Haji will be the one who will help my family when he signs a professional contract,” Her mother said of Haji. 

Despite supporting her son Haji, Mai Jammeh is still an active basketball player.

” I am a big sports fan, still an active basketball player, and married. I like sports; that’s why I am doing everything to support my son,” Haji’s Mum said.

Meanwhile, other winners of the SESDO Award include Moses Jassey, league winner with Juventus FC won the Best Coach of the Naweetan season, Haji Touray, league winner with Juventus FC, who won the Best Player of the Season; Cherno Sanyang Knoch out Champions with Rangers FC won the best goalkeeper of the Naweetan, Modou Lamin Sarr of T.Town won the youngest best player of the Naweetan, Medina FC of Tallinding won the best fan club last season and Juventus FC won the best team of the Naweetan.
