Gambia U20 Physiotherapist Ebrima Saine joins Tanzanian Azam FC

Ebrima Saine has put pen on paper on a four-month contract with Tanzanian Azam FC, subject to renewal.

Saine returned to the East African country after spending the preseason with Youssoup Dabo-led charges, primarily spent in Sousse, Tunisia.

A much thrilled Saine told Alkamba Sports that he feels great and is delighted with the job.

“This beautiful job has not only widened my scope of experience but also allowed me to further learn and re-equipped myself with a better understanding of my work,” Saine told TAT Sports.

Saine has been on the radar of former Senegal U20 coach Youssoup Dabo since he was in Stade De Mbour in 2017.

The vastly experienced Physiotherapist describes the lesson learned and fitting in a top-notch professional club like Azam has demonstrated his credentials.

“The preseason, I exhibited resilience, hard work, and commitment,’ Saine, who has been with the Young Scorpions (Gambia U20) since 2018, says Azam has been supportive said.

“The team has been very supportive and creates the perfect environment for me to do my job well. They also create a supportive ground and accommodate all my work demands.”

This will be Saine’s second club job after working with Elite Utd. He earlier worked with both senior national teams.

Saine, who has FIFA Diploma in sports medicine, is currently doing Biokinetics and Sports Injury Management, a post-clinical exercise therapy program meant to equip coaches and technical staff with the knowledge to help athletes quickly return to play after clinical assessments.

Ebrima Saine has won many medals, including the 2019 WAFU-U20 Bronze Medal (in Guinea Conakry), 2020 WAFU-U20 Gold Medal (in Senegal), 2021 AFCON-U20 Bronze Medal (in Mauritania), and 2022 AFCON -U20 SILVER Medal(in Egypt ).
