During the blessed Ramadan, the Vision Development Foundation showed compassion by giving out Two thousand five hundred and twenty-five bags of sugar of ten kilograms per bag to multiple beneficiaries, including men and women in uniform, several organizations, and some deserving people.
The distribution ceremony was conducted at the VDF office in Churchill’s Town, where a large crowd had gathered for the annual Ramadan gifts program, providing daily food supplies to Muslims at the designated distribution center.
Saihou Fofana, VFD Board Member and Public Relations Officer, hoped the gesture would significantly support beneficiaries throughout Ramadan. He emphasized that such acts of care and sharing are fundamental to VDF’s mission.
“Our able CEO (Momodou Turo Darboe) believes caring and sharing are important components of his operation. This Ramadan operation is one of our major operations, but we have different operations,” Mr. Fofana said.
Inspector Ceesay of the Gambia Police Force’s anti-crime unit expressed gratitude to VDF for the commendable gesture, which he believes will complement the government’s efforts.
He thanked the foundation for considering them and urged other philanthropists to follow VDF’s example, especially during this holy month.
The event also featured the presentation of bread, dates, tea, and cash to those gathered at the VDF Office.
Some of the foundation’s interventions include water, health, education, and road projects for beneficiaries nationwide.
