Jatta, Sowe, and Kujabi  on target as Lamarna and Ebrima Darboe make their debuts

England

Yankuba Minteh was handed his premier league debut and went on to have an impact at Goodison Park before being substituted. However, his agent, Bakary Bojang, said Minteh is ok. Minteh set up Mitoma for the opener, while Welbeck and Adingra also scored to make it 3-0 for the visitors.

Alasana Jatta scored in Notts County’s 2–2 draw with Fleetwood. Jatta pulled one back in the 57th minute, just like when he scored the equaliser against Shresbury in the midweek. Jordi Jones’ goal from the spot leveled the tie in the 90+5 minute. The former Vibog FF and Paide talisman has now scored 7 goals in his last 10 appearances.

Stockport County’s triumphed at Blomfield Road means is back-to-back victories for the Hatters. Ibou Touray assisted Barry as they beat Blackpool 3-0.

Italy

Ebrima Darboe was handed his home debut at the Stadio Benito Stirpe stadium. Darboe was meeting Sampdoria, where he spent the second round of last season. The game ended 2-2 with Darboe playing 85 minutes.

Turkey

Ali Sowe scored his 20th Super Liga goal when Rizespor beat Adana Demirspor 2-1 away from home. Sowe had five shots; his second shot was blocked for a corner kick; his assist to Dal was saved by the goalkeeper. Sowe went on to double the visitor’s lead in the 74th minute when he controlled a cross from Muhammet and fired it into  the bottom corner.

Serbian defender Uros Brace handed Sivasspor their first win following their draw in the league opener. Noah Sonko played the entire game.

Besiktas JK maintained  their good start to the season following their 4-2 win over Antalyaspor. Immobile scored a brace in the first half, and both Rafa Silva and Emest added one apiece in the second half. Omar Colley put on a good defensive display.

Denmark

OB Odense maintained their prefect start to the season by collecting three points on the road, this time against B93. Goals from Bonde, Fenger, and Owusu made it five wins in five matches. Manneh, who has been playing as a central midfielder, provided his fourth assist and back-to-back assist when his setpiece was headed by Bonde in the 13th to give the visitors the lead.

Sweden

Mjällby and Abdoulie Manneh ended their three-game endless win following Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Elfsborg. Abdoulie Manneh was introduced in the 87th minute when he replaced Arvid Brorsson.

Slovakia

FK Zeleziarne secured its first league win following their 7-1 home win against MFK Skalica. Alasana Yirajang doubled Vladimir Cifrani’s side the lead in the 45th minute. Yirajang was involved in the team’s first and third goals.

Mahmudu Bajo and Dac 1904 picked up their second victory of the season following their 3-0 win over Nagymihály.

Ousman Kujabi scored his second MonacoBet Liga goal in FK Pohronie 3-2 win over  Slovan Bratislava B. The former Real de Banjul winger gave the home side the lead in the 35th minute. Ousman Kujabi and Muhammed Hydra were all handed a start.

Lativa

Seven changes were made to the team that secured European football against Coloma. Haruna Rashid Njie was handed a starting berth and it paid dividend as the Gambia U20 midfielder scored the opening goal and went on to provide an assist as FRS reached the semifinals of the Lativan cup thanks to their 4.3 away win against Valmeria.

Grecce

Lamarana Jallow made his Greece Super League debut in the Levadiakos 0-0 draw today. They were held to a 0-0 draw by Athens Kallithea.

CAF Champions League

Gambian trio Ahmed Ndow, Aboudlie Kah, and Matar Ceesay secured a win and a draw respectively in the CAF preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup. Ouattara’s 55th minute goal was enough for Stade Tunisen to secure a 1-0 win in Sudan against Jamus FC. Amat Ndow was introduced in the 65th minute.

Abdoulie Kah and Matar Ceesay secured a vital point following their 1-1 draw in Abidjan against Stade d’Abidjan; the Gambian duo were all named in the starting XI.

Gambian involvement in the CAF premilinares continued on Sunday with Gibril Sillah in action. Azam FC edged APR FC thanks to Blanco’s 57th minute goal from the spot.

I started my journalism career as a football analyst in 2012 with Vibes FM and went on to work with CityLimit, West Coast, Hot FM, Freedom Radio, Eye Africa and Afri Radio as a content producer and presenter.
