Another youngster stabbed to death in Brufut

Barely a week after the fatal stabbing of a young man along the Senegambia area, another stabbing incident has been reported in Brufut involving two youngsters, resulting in the death of one Abdoulie Sanneh.

The incident triggered a confrontation between the family and friends of the victim, and the alleged killer; a resident of the coastal town of Brufut, which witnessed scenes of angry youth’s reacting to the incident by vandalizing the home of the alleged suspect.

Sources familiar with the story, say the incident happened on Sunday at the Brufut beach front, where the two got involved in a fierce fistfight. Meanwhile, the suspect Yusupha Bojang has been arrested by police and is helping investigations to ascertain the cause of the killing.

A Security analyst told Alkamba Times the recent surge in crime is directly linked to the lack of employment opportunities and focused program’s to increase youth productivity.

He is also a co-founder of the Banjul-based Media Center for Research and Development, an institution dedicated to research and development initiatives.
