Ivan Stoyanov a development coach with Eintracht Frankfurt a first division team in Bundasliga is in the Gambia to train local coaches. The two day coaching masterclass which is being facilitated by Ballers4Life football agency in partnership with BK WEST, Jarisu Talents and Brikama Sports Committee has drawn 30 participants from the First, Second and Third divisions, other grassroots clubs and academies.
“This training is important for us as most of the licensing programs are expensive and unaffordable for local coaches,” said Ebrima Bojang, a participant at the training.
Football evolves everyday with new techniques, inventions and development which makes such training from highly qualified coaches like Ivan very important for our growth, he added“
The training which comprises a theory class and outdoor lesson is running from the 6-7 November, 2023.
This is part of the many objectives we want to achieve in our partnership with Brikama Sports Committee. We’ll continue to facilitate capacity building programs through such training, exchange visits for coaches, players and other actors in the sporting fraternity said Cherno Barry of Baller4Life.
The talent pool in sports management is very scarce in Africa especially in the Gambia. We have natural talents and avid football enthusiasts here. To help them reach certain standards, harnessing their skills should be a key objective, he added.
Coach Ivan and his team are expected to visit Nawettan centres during this visit.
