Already compared to Dembo Darboe, former Real de Banjul left-winger Ebrima Singhateh is taking Estonia by storm with his breathtaking performances.
Comfortable on both wings, Singhateh has been playing as a striker right now. Described as a player who has vision and is talented as well as promising, Raul as affectionately called by friends is a strong athlete with speed, skills, and above all prolific.
“My dream is big, I want to play in one of the top leagues. That’s my aim and dream.” Ebrima told The Alkamba Times Sports from his base in Estonia.
He has scored eight goals in five matches for Paide with seven being registered in the Esiliiga (U21). His statistics are similar to Alasana Jatta who currently plays for Viborg FF.
“It was not a surprise to me scoring in every other match, it will keep motivating me, it’s all about hard work and concentration,” Ebrima said.
The forward is feeling at home already, the trio was welcomed by Foday Trawallay prior to his loan move but Ebrima is enjoying the company of GK Ebrima Jarju and Midfielder Bubacarr Tambedou.
” I feel ok, it gives me courage, they were my teammates while at Real De Banjul. He was pushing us, he knew the team and the environment, he was giving us courage”.
Ebrima spent the first three matches on the bench, until against Tammeka when he was called upon and the 18-year-old paid coach Karel Voolaid trust.
“The coach saw my style of play and my goal statistics. The coach used to tell me that my time will come and I should just be patient. I was given 15 minutes against Tammek in our 3-1 and I was saying this is my chance I have to capitalize on it, I got the chance then I scored on my debut.” Ebrima added.
