Faal Opens Account with Karpaty Lviv as Tambedou and Kanform Score Again

Gambian players continued to make their mark across Europe and Asia, with Baboucarr Faal opening his account for Karpaty Lviv, while Bubacarr Tambedou and Solomon Kanform scored in back-to-back matches for their respective clubs.

England

Yankuba Minteh produced a moment of brilliance after being handed a start against Sunderland AFC, marking his first start since December 30.

The Gambian winger looked lively in the first half, delivering several dangerous crosses and constantly troubling the opposition defence.

His efforts were rewarded in the second half when he scored a sublime goal. Positioned on the right flank, Minteh attempted what appeared to be a cross from near the byline, but his chipped delivery sailed over the goalkeeper and into the net.

Minteh played 76 minutes, completing 12 of 18 passes, making four tackles, four recoveries, winning six duels, and recording nine defensive contributions from 36 touches.

Switzerland

BSC Young Boys boosted their chances of a top six finish with a 2–0 win over FC Lausanne-Sport.

Gambian forward Ebrima Colley was introduced in the 75th minute, making his first appearance since November after recovering from an ankle injury.

Turkey

Karamba Gassama made his ninth appearance for Gaziantep FK, starting in their 4–1 away win over Antalyaspor. Gassama completed the full 90 minutes.

At the other end, Jesper Ceesay played 63 minutes for Antalyaspor.

Sweden

Mjällby AIF stunned record Malmö FF champions with a 4–0 victory in the Swedish Cup, securing a place in the quarterfinals with Abdoulie Manneh playing the entire game.

Latvia

Former Greater Tomorrow FC midfielder Modou Saidy played the full 90 minutes for RFS Riga, producing an energetic display in midfield.

Saidy came close to doubling the lead in the 39th minute, but his header went straight to the goalkeeper. Later he was brought down on the edge of the box to win a free kick, and in the 83rd minute he nearly scored with a low drive.

RFS held on to an early goal scored by Panic in the 14th minute, securing their second win and clean sheet of the season.

Meanwhile, Muhammed Badamosi replaced Ramires in the 84th minute as Riga FC recorded a 4–2 home win, while Wally Fofana was an unused substitute for FK Auda.

Ukraine

Baboucarr Faal scored his first league goal for Karpaty Lviv and also provided an assist in their 4–0 victory over SC Poltava.

The performance marked his third goal contribution in the last two league games.

Bulgaria

Sainey Sanyang was on target as Botev Vratsa secured a 3–1 away victory against Botev Plovdiv, extending their unbeaten run to five league matches.

Sanyang scored the third goal after joining a counterattack on the left side and finishing with a powerful strike. Since his loan move, he has played every match and averaged 90 minutes per game.

Estonia

Paide Linnameeskond secured their first win of the season thanks to a dramatic 90+7 minute free-kick from Daniel Cabral.

Momodou Jobarteh retained his place in the starting XI alongside Pa Modou Sohna and goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju.

Earlier, Bubacarr Tambedou scored his second goal in successive matches as FCI Levadia Tallinn defeated JK Harju 3–1 away.

Tambedou opened the scoring in the 8th minute and later created several chances. He was denied by the goalkeeper’s leg, brought down when through on goal in the 32nd minute, and registered two more shots in the second half.

Bangladesh

Solomon Kanform scored his sixth goal of the season, making it back-to-back goals for the former Gambia Armed Forces FC captain.

Kanform broke the deadlock with a half-volley after a scramble inside the box, before Rahmatganj MFS added two more goals in the 72nd and 84th minutes.

Elsewhere, the top-of-the-table clash between Fortis FC and Bashundhara Kings ended 3–2, with Pa Omar Babou and Essa Jallow featuring in the encounter.
