The three panel of judges at the court of appeal have order for the filing of briefs of argument in the appeal case of Yankuba Touray, former minister of Local Government and Lands under the military reign of former President Yahya Jammeh.
The panel led by Justice Na-Ceesay Sallah-Wadda said both the lawyer for Touray and the respondent will each have 28 days each to file their arguments. A Sissohor appeared for Yankuba Touray while Senior State Counsel Muhammed B Sowe appeared for the State.
The case is adjourned until October 10 for adoption of briefs argument of both parties. Justices Mahoney and Roche are the other judges.
Touray who appeared in court in a white haftan is appealing against the decision of Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of the high court who convicted him to death by hanging last July after he found him guilty of the murder of former Minister of Finance, Ousman Koro Ceesay in 1995 at his residence in Kololi.
