Prominent Gambian rights activist Muhammed Lamin Saidykhan has been named among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans in 2022, featuring Liverpool FC star and Egyptian International Mohammed Salah, FC Bayern Munich and Senegalese superstar Sadio Mane, and Nigerian International pop – singer, Davido, among others.
The platform, an initiative of a leading public relations and rating firm called Avance Media Africa, has announced the 7th edition this year, recognizing and celebrating young people making a positive impact in their communities and industries across the continent.
Reacting to the news, the notable Pan – African who now leads the Climate Action Network – International (CAN-I) organization, Muhammed Lamin Saidykhan, expressed his delight and described his selection as an “honor and motivation.”
“I am honored and motivated to be listed among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans by Avance Media Africa. This is dedicated to young people I have worked with to bring positive change in Africa through African Rising,” Saidykhan said.
“The struggle continues with our work in Climate Action Network – International and others formations,” he added.
The 2022 edition includes young people from 25 different countries, with 31 Nigerians being the highest representatives, followed by 11 Kenyans, 10 Ghanaians, 5 South Africans, and 7 Tanzanians, among which 43 are females, and 57 are males.
The publication covers young people working in various industries, including media, business, leadership, climate change, and entertainment, setting the pace for their peers and inspiring a new generation to take on leadership roles and positively impact their communities.
