Adama Jammeh, a Rates Manager of the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) has clarified that Seaview Hotel is not among hotels owing to the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) any arrears, hinting that Seaview settled all its dues covering 2021 and 2022.
The development comes on the heels of our May 5th, 2022, report that indicated that several hotels including Badala Park hotel, Sand Beach hotel, Fajara Hotel, and Seaview hotel owe KMC rent arrears leading to legal action against defaulters.
The Alkamba Times was reliably informed that some hotels including Seaview hotel have issues relative to the default of rates payment but Rates Manager Adama Jammeh confirmed latest developments in the issue.
“We can confirm that Seaview hotel is registered with the Kanifing Municipal Council on plot number KMC 2801-0233- and has been on a payment plan which was completed since December 2021. And the current and the current rate of 2022, has also been paid in full,” Rates Manager, Adama Jammeh clarified in a letter addressed to Lord Mayor, Deputy CEO, and Deputy Director of Finance.
She added that Seaview hotel does not owe the Council any rates.”
The Proprietor of Seaview hotel, Hatib Janneh also reacted to our story confirming that his hotel has always been compliant with all taxes and rate payments.
