Police in Banjul have arrested and detained Journalist Yusuf Tylor fondly Flex Dan, and famous musician Ali Cham alias Killer Ace in connection with Nenneh Freda Gomez, battling with the state over a land property situated at Bijilo.
Abdoulie Jawo, Safety Monitoring officer of Gambia Press Union (GPU) confirmed the arrest and detention of Yusuf Tylor, Editor of Gianako Newspaper and rapper Killer Ace.
Their arrest and detention of the duo come following the journalist’s resolve to cover the arrest of Nenneh Freda Gomez and lamin Sey, both representatives of Global HOMM Company.
They are held at the Senegambia Police Station without charges when going to press.
Muhammed MS Bah, President Gambia Press Union, also confirmed the arrest and detention of Yusuf Tylor, noting that the journalist’s arrest and subsequent detention are in connection to the case of Neneh Freda Gomez and lamin Sey.
The GPU President could not confirm what charges were preferred against the Editor of Gainako, but added that the Union has already taken steps to secure bail and release.
