The Liverpool and Senegal forward who has been one of the key supporters of the Scorpions during the AFCON, has urged the Gambian population to stay behind the team as the AFCON concluded.
The prominent footballer was speaking after he helped Senegal clinch their first AFCON title.
“Unlucky I will say, but I want to say you guys stay behind your team. I saw them, I was proud of the boys”
“I was shocked the day they got knocked against Cameroon but is part of football. Never give up, keep on going” Mané said.
Mané who was awarded the most outstanding player in the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon also promised to visit The Gambia at the end of the football leagues in England.
