Gambian international Assan Ceesay helps his club FC Zurich to their first Super League title in 13 years in Switzerland following a conformable 2-0 win over second-place Basel FC.

Former Gamtel forward opens the scoring in the first half with a header before teammate Bornaijasevic seals the victory for the capital-based team in stoppage time going into the break.

The Banjul-born center-forward, Assan, has now scored 18 league goals for Zurich in the league so far.

“We are the champions of the league, thanks be to God the Almighty, and trust the process. Ceesay wrote on his social media platforms.

Assan is the second leading goal scorer in the Swiss Super League 2021-22 season with 18 goals, four goals behind Young Boy’s Jordan Siebatcheu who is currently leading the scoring chart with 22 goals and with four matches to go before the end of the league season.

Assan who is a real contender for the Golden Shoe award can now focus his attention on fighting for the award.
