The president of Serrekunda East Sports Development Organization (SESDO), Momodou Yusupha Cham, and his committee members are targeting the 2022 Zonal Championship title as they intensify preparations ahead of the tournament.
“We started the preparation earlier to avoid any distribution that may delay our quest to win this year’s championship. We are aware that other zones are also preparing, but for us, our target is the trophy. We’ll be going all out to archive that target because we haven’t won the championship for a couple of years now, and we can’t fall short for another year,” He told the Alkamba Times Sports desk.
“Our team has started training in earnest, and the coach and backroom staff have already identified some players from the various nawettan teams within the zone, and they will trim down to the number of players they need for the final selection, and that will be the team to represent us in this year’s competition.
We will prepare all the necessary support the team may need. We have identified a technical committee with highly experienced and qualified personalities who will work closely with the coaching staff to provide a better team”. Cham added.
The last time Serrekunda East won the Zonal championship was back in 2018.
