From historic milestones at Wembley to decisive contributions across multiple leagues, Gambian players continue to make their mark on the international stage. With several individuals hitting top form at a crucial stage of the season, the country’s footballing export remains on a strong upward trajectory.

Gambian international Adama Sidibeh etched his name into the history books with a landmark goal at Wembley Stadium, headlining an impressive weekend for Gambian players abroad.

The forward became the first Gambian to score at the iconic venue when he gave Stockport County an early lead in the English Football League final. Sidibeh struck in the 10th minute, showing sharpness inside the box to beat his marker and finish past the goalkeeper.

The goal marked his fourth in consecutive matches and his eighth since joining the Hatters, underlining his red-hot form. However, despite his early breakthrough, Stockport County fell short as Luton Town responded strongly to secure victory and leave Sidibeh’s side runners-up once again.

Elsewhere in England, Yankuba Minteh continued to impress with Brighton & Hove Albion. The winger’s pace and direct play caused constant problems, and he came close to registering an assist after a surging run and cross found Danny Welbeck, whose effort was saved.

Brighton secured a 2–0 win at Turf Moor, with Mats Wieffer scoring twice to boost their European ambitions.

In Central Europe, Ebrima Singhateh opened his league account for FK Jablonec in a commanding 4–1 win over FC Baník Ostrava. The striker combined neatly with David Puškáč before finishing confidently, helping Jablonec climb to third in the table.

Compatriot Lamin Jawo also contributed with an assist, while Youssoupha Sanyang featured for Slavia Prague in their draw against Viktoria Plzeň.

In Hungary, Nfansu Njie maintained his fine form, scoring for Győri ETO FC after being set up by Željko Gavrić. Njie now has seven goal contributions in just 12 starts, highlighting his growing influence.

Over in Estonia, it was another standout weekend for Gambian players. Bubacarr Tambedou scored his fourth league goal of the season for FCI Levadia, extending their unbeaten run.
